Hotels are accommodations that provide the base for the tourists that are engaged in the process of staying at a destination. They are the focal point for the hosting of guests as well as visitors where the guests pay a fee in return for the services. Broadly speaking, they are classified on the basis of Rentals (budget or luxury), Range of facilities (five star or three star), Location (resort), length of stay (transit of residential) and Ownership & management (chain or individual).

    1. What are the different types of hotels? Hotels are accommodations that provide the base for the tourists that are engaged in the process of staying at a destination. They are the focal point for the hosting of guests as well as visitors where the guests pay a fee in return for the services. Broadly speaking, they are classified on the basis of Rentals (budget or luxury), Range of facilities (five star or three star), Location (resort), length of stay (transit of residential) and Ownership & management (chain or individual). International or Star Hotel The International or star hotels are mainly based on hotel ratings, which are often used to classify hotels according to their quality. The tariffs of such rooms are mainly dependent upon the quality of services at the rooms. Non Star or Commercial Hotel These hotels are located at every tourist destination which are accessible as well as affordable. They provide every kind of necessary services to their guests. Residential Hotel These are mainly apartment houses that are complete with all the hotel services. They are also known as apartment hotels Transit Hotel A transit hotel is a short-stay hotel typically used at international airports in the transit zone where passengers on extended waits between planes can stay just like the transit hotels in Delhi airport. The hotel is within the air side security/passport checkpoints and close to the airport terminals. No entry visa into the country is required to stay, although some countries require a transit visa. The transit hotels at Delhi airport, which are amongst the famous ones in the country.
