Gyo-chon, a southern neighborhood of the historic Gyeongju city-center, is the ancient home of the Gyeongju Choi aristocratic clan descendants, since at least the late Unified Shilla Dynasty.It is a tourism-oriented area today. It rests on the north bank of Gyeongju's Nam-cheon(South Stream). It includes the Choi Clan aristocratic mansion andrelated buildings, the Gyeongju Beobju rice-wine compound, and the Yeoseok-gung Restaurant. The village is also home to workshops for pottery and glass, as well as a nubi (traditional quilting) experience center

A jangseung or village guardian is a Korean totem pole usually made of wood, sometimes made of stone and bearing some resemblance to the dolhareubangs of Jeju Island Korean totem poles (Jangseung) were used traditionally to protect villages from evil spirits. Today, they are still used for this purpose, plus to promote tourist sites, used for social activism, to express resistance against political or environmental issues and as the subject of art.

  18. Baduk is a game which was present in Korea by the 5th century. It originated in China, but the West is more familiar with the Japanese name Go. This is because the Japanese were the first to introduce it to the West. Japan was introduced to the game in the 7th century AD
