2. Social workers help clients deal with problems in their daily lives. They often help clients with problems caused by neglect, abuse, domestic violence, mental health and abuse of parental substances. Social clinicians can also diagnose and treat mental, behavioral , and emotional issues.

3. We are looking for a caring social worker to help support the neighborhoods in which we have a presence by assisting our clients with problems such as neglect, child abuse , domestic violence, mental wellbeing and misuse of parental drugs. Cases are dealt with by phone or in person.

4. Social Worker Responsibilities: • Assisting clients with receiving telephone and in person services. • Getting customers involved in beneficial work. • Assessing customers and collecting relevant data. • To provide information, and to support clients and their families. • Contacting other agencies and services, and making references. • Holding clear records and generating papers. • Taking part in preparation, monitoring and meetings

5. Social Worker Requirements: • Awareness of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do. • Ability to give full attention to what social service clients are saying, understand the points being made, ask questions and not interrupt inappropriately. • Experience working with clients that are affected by issues including neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, mental health and parental substance abuse. • Bachelor degree in psychology, social work or related field. • Able to develop a treatment plan. • Knowledge of crisis intervention.

6. Skills • Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. • Speaking — Talking to others to convey information effectively. • Critical Thinking— Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. • Social Perceptiveness— Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. • Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

7. Abilities • Oral Expression — The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. • Oral Comprehension — The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. • Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. • Written Comprehension — The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. • Written Expression — The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
