- Staying Organized 9/18/2013
- Learning Target I can use my iPad to stay organized as a student. Success Criteria: I can access my files via WebDAV. I can add an event to my calendar. I can create a reminder.
- I lost my paper on the bus. My dog ate it! I couldn’t find the directions. It was in my backpack earlier, I promise! What are some common reasons you’ve seen for not turning in schoolwork?
- The iPads are a tool that can help you stay organized and turn in work electronically. Brainstorm: What could be some of its benefits? No more lost papers! No more broken pencils or smudged & crumpled papers! All your work is automatically saved in one spot! You can set reminders to study or complete your assignments! Your teachers will know that you turned in your work on time!
- In order to avoid…
- …let’s start!
- WebDAV Navigator+ What is WebDAV? It allows you access to your network “My Documents” folder as well as any class shared folders. How will I use it? To turn in work, open assignments from teachers, or create back-up copies of important files.
- Setting up WebDAV Open up the app Click the + button
- Enter server information: Name: First Name Last Name (ie. Joe Johnson) Server URL: 1. Delete the http that has been typed for you 2. Start typing “webdav” and the computer will auto-fill the url: https://webdav.vansd.org/oneNet/NetStorage Username: the ID# you use to login to a school computer Password: the network password you use when logging in to a computer
- Press Save If yours has a red – sign, press Done
- Click on your name If you see your documents, you have been successful! If you don’t, go back and check that the URL is exactly correct & that your ID#/Password are correct.
- Phew! That was a lot of steps to follow. Unfortunately, there are a few more…so hold tight. You’ve now set-up your WebDAV account, but also need to set-up the pathway to turn work in from the apps Pages, Keynote, & Numbers.
- Transferring files from Pages/Keynote/Numbers Open Pages
- Click the + Click Copy from WebDAV
