Use of log-ins/passwords You will each be given your own individual passwords and logins which should be kept private at ALL times. The password should consist of 8 characters; including a mixture of lower and upper case letters, numbers and symbols. Change your password every couple of months! Don’t be lazy and stay protected.
If you log-in to a computer using someone else’s details without them knowing then you could be breaking the law (see the Computer Misuse Act 1990).
Sharing Information Do not open emails if you do not know who sent them! Do not reply to emails that ask you to send things. If you open an email attachment, you should check the file with an anti-virus checker.
Make sure you use the privacy settings and never meet up with people you are only friends with online. Do not give out personal or sensitive details (like credit card details) when you are uncertain about web sites asking for this information.
You must not say anything offensive or defamatory (insulting) – if you do then people might sue you or you could be in trouble with the law. If you do this whilst at work then you could get the sack.
