  2. Rationale • A Coordination and Support Action financed by the FP7 with Duration: 2011 – 2013. • ECOWEBaims at the transfer of EU funded eco-innovation to SMEs and enterprises in general. The challenge EU has a leading position in eco-innovations however transfer to SMEs is rather low. Why? Lack of time, don’t know where to look, too much info scattered, etc.

Objectives • Improve the knowledge & technology transfer of EU-funded eco-innovations to SMEs • Increase collaboration between research, business and networks of enterprises • Streamline the dissemination of EU-funded R&D eco-innovative results into a 1-stop shop with quick and intuitive design

Intro Content Information highlights on eco-innovative technologies, applications, products, processes and other solutions from thousands of European R&D funded projects (FP6 and FP7, CIP and LIFE+ programmes). Innovative design • User-centered development guides users quickly– especially SMEs –to customised results, an easy and effective search experience for the user. • Semantic technology allows to automatically integrate relevant information from official databases of the EC funding programmes (in collaborationwiththe EC) + projectwebsites.

Uptonow… Platform prototype I • Allsearchfunctionalities • ~900 projects with eco-innovative results in our database from FP7, CIP and LIFE+ programmes • project coordinators contacted and currently validating their project information Get a feelingofthis 1st prototype in ouryoutubevideopresentation. Activation of collaboration networks • List of European candidate multipliers: identification and selection in process

Whatmakes ECOWEB different? • Customised display of information leading to relevant eco-innovation results and sharing options (not just another database of projects). • User-centered development = high usability + user experience • Up-to-date info on eco-innovations from the 3 main EU-funding programmes in 1-stop shop. • The necessary link: collaboration with existing networks • A sustainable platform after project end (2013) with search functionalities for free.
