  3. Psoas major Origin : T12-L5 vertebra Insertion : lesser trochanter Action : powerful hip flexion Innervation: femoral N.

  4. Psoas minor Origin : T12 & L1 vertebra Insertion : pectineal line Action : weak flexion of trunk

  5. THOMAS TEST • Supine position • Adequate flex uninvolved limb (Chung et al. JBJS-Am 2011) (Thomas. 1876)

  6. STAHELI TEST • Prone position • gradually extends the thigh until beginning of spinal motion (Staheli. 1977) (Chung et al. JBJS-Am 2011)

  7. Posterior femoral muscles (Hamstrings)

  8. Biceps femoris(long head) Origin: ischial tuberosity Insertion: head of fibula Action: 1. hip extension 2. knee flexion & ER Innervation: tibial division of sciatic N.

  9. Biceps femoris(short head) Origin: 1. lineaaspera, 2. supracondylar line Insertion: fibula, lateral tibia Action: knee flexion & ER Innervation: Peroneal division of sciatic N

  10. Semitendinosus Origin: ischial tuberosity Insertion: proximal medial tibia Action: 1. hip extension 2. knee flexion & IR Innervation: tibial division of sciatic N.

  11. Semimembranosus Origin: ischial tuberosity Insertion: posterior medial tibial condyle Action: 1. hip extension 2. knee flexion & IR Innervation: Tibial division of sciatic N.
