  2. What is a blog? • A Blog (short for "Weblog") is an interactive, personalized Web journal for posting your views, art, rants, raves, reviews, pictures, music-anything that you want to share with the teaming masses (or a private group).

  3. Why Blogs? • To provide extra reading practice for students. • To guide students to online resources appropriate for their level. • To increase the sense of community in a class. • To encourage opportunities for introverted students to express themselves outside the classroom • To promote the use of technology and various teaching materials: audio, video, power point, maps, etc • Easy to assess from students’ perspective

Why Blogs? continued • To stimulate out-of-class discussion. • To follow up, monitor students’ progress after class hours • To accommodate the 21 century requirement of using technology • As an online portfolio of student written work. • To help build a closer relationship between students in large classes. • www.languageday.blogspot.com

  5. Let’s create your blog. On Google, type ‘blogger’.

  6. Fill out the blank boxes.

  7. Name your blog and check availability.

  8. There are some templates you can choose from. there

  9. That’s it. Let’s start blogging.

  10. You need to ‘Customize’ before posting your teaching materials by clicking it.

  11. You can select or remove the authors and readers.

  12. Time to upload for your students.

  13. Type in the title, such as ‘listening assignment.

  14. Upload Video Insert picture Hyperlink

  15. If you saved the material in your computer, you can bring it into your blog.

  16. You can embed images. Give a task, such as ‘describe the picture in one paragraph.

  17. You can also make it hyperlink, link, or embed.

  18. Video file posting from your computer.

  19. Give tasks with the document, image, audio, or video. i.e) Open the doc. File and answer the questions while viewing the video.
