The Nature of our Hope

The Nature of our Hope. Our Hope is a Better Hope. It is BETTER than the hope of those who lived under the law of Moses. “…for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope , through which we draw near to God.” (Hebrews 7:19).

  1. The Nature of our Hope

  2. Our Hope is a Better Hope It is BETTER than the hope of those who lived under the law of Moses. “…for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.” (Hebrews 7:19)

  3. Our Hope is a Joyful Hope We “rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” -- Romans 5:2

  4. Our Hope is a Living Hope Our hope is real and alive because of the resurrection of Jesus! “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3)

  5. Our Hope is an Anchor It stabilizes the soul! “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast…” (Hebrews 6:19)

  6. Our Hope Produces and is Produced by Perseverance Hope is produced as we persevere through tribulation and develop godly character. “…tribulation produces perseverance, and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” (Romans 5:3-4)

  7. Our Hope Produces and is Produced by Perseverance Hope motivates us to persevere! “For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.” Romans 8:24-25

  8. As we worship today, let us give praise to our glorious Lordwho has given us our hope. “I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more.” Psalm 71:14.
