  15. Environmental Science Seeks a way to: • Describe and understand how the Earth’s Environment operates • Describe and understand our role in its health • Develop solution to problems a) That have many factors (not all of which we can control) b) That exist on a non-human scale in time and space c) Whose solutions challenge our fundamental beliefs and values

  16. Goals Introduction to the science Exposure Awareness

  17. Envirothon Teams of 6 • Environmental Science competition • The Envirothon is a hands-on environmental problem-solving competition for high school-aged students in the United States and Canada. • Participating teams complete training and testing in five natural resource categories: i.e., soils and land use, aquatic ecology, forestry, wildlife, and a current environmental issue.

  19. What is on the site • Notes-Power Points-labs • Concept lists • Homework Assignments • Challenge questions • Answer Keys • Rubrics (lab report, comp book) Most of the material involved with 1st MP already listed

  20. Most importantly… • A virtual copy of the textbook can be accessed from The main page for Environmental Science • In PDF file form…need Adobe reader on your computer…free download if you need it • Textbooks ordered, but have not arrived
