Emergency aid – prioritise ABC G. Get help A. Deal with Aftermath In the event of an accident, Hurtwood Emergency procedure will be followed (attached). Students briefed about safety and appropriate behaviour prior to departure Students briefed about walking safely to and from taxi and with regard to the public. • • • Car Journey Students & Staff (S&S) Road traffic accident • • • Students briefed on what to do if lost. Staff to carry list of student contact numbers. Regular face to face and headcount checks will be undertaken. Head count will be taken before journeys Staff to contact student once discovered missing – directly and through friends in the same group. If student has not been located after 20 mins, school will be contacted. Party leader to check any medical information prior to event. Students with specific medical conditions and allergies instructed to take medication/inhalers with them. Party leader will check prior to departure. Students with food allergies/intolerances reminded to take care when eating/choosing meal items. Member of staff will help unwell student and give first aid. Professional help will be sought if necessary. School will be contacted for care instructions and safe transfer of student.
