Definitions of Unique Infections In Cardiothoracic Transplantation and MCS • Definitions development • Developed cross-council expert workforce • Divided into MCS and CTTx specific sections • Evaluated literature and current standards • Refined proposed definitions • Sent to working group for review 4/14/10 • Workshhop 4/20,presentation Annual ISHLT with expert panel 4/23 and MCS on 4/24 • Response by 5/7/10 from Workgroup • To be Reviewed by The ID Council Working Group On Definitions • Plan posting on ISHLT member website by approximately 6/1/10 for 30 day open response from ISHLT membership • Revision and re-circulation to working group • Presentation and circulation to S&G committee • Revision and presentation to working group & Board of Directors

  3. Response to Novel H1N1 pandemic • On-line Advisory posting • Publication in JHLT • – first transplant society to present recommendations • (Special Thanks to Dr Mehra for his expert guidance ) • ID Council available as needed by ISHLT as needs arise

  4. ID Council Has Been Requested To Write Letter Of Comment On UNOS/OPTN Recommendation For Toxoplasmosis Screening For All US Heart Donors • Letter to be drafted and vetted by ID council,then presented to Board of Directors prior to release • Response due by mid-July

  5. Monograph UpdateInfectious Diseases in Cardiothorasic Transplantation and MCS • 110 authors have been invited • 70 confirmed yes as of beginning of meeting •  Follow-up letter to be sent within the next 7- 10 days

Monograph cont’d • Deadline For Authors • July 26th Return All Manuscripts To Subeditor(s) or executive editors if no subeditors • To Elviser By November 1st • Distribution Date: Annual ISHLT 2011 • Have Discussed Plan With Dr Kirklin And Have Received His Expert Advice/ Guidance And Thank Him For His Continued Assistance

  7. ID Council Goal To Increase And Diversify MembershipInvolvement With Cross Council Projects • Infectious Disease leader from Spain • Dr Patricia Munoz= new member • Pulmonary council core curricula document- interest in assisting with infectious Disease Areas
