  3. Introduction Why E-Waste A Problem? As technology quickly develops, people are constantly getting new equipment and stop using their old equipment. An electronic product may contain morethan1,000different substances, some of which can be harmful to human and environmental health. If old equipment is not properly recycled, these substances could get into the air, soil and water.

  4. Introduction Reuse is an option to recycling because it extends the lifespan of a device. Devices still need eventual recycling, but by allowing others to purchase used electronics, recycling can be postponed and value gained from device use The more we recycle the more we save. The more we recycle the more we will protect our children and our assets.

  5. Focusing We identified the problem stems from the problems of e-waste.we worked hard and study it to get a good solution for it . After hard work from research and development department and all employees on Spear ink company we finally got the solution which lead us to reduce co2 on the air and we can also able to recycle this waste . this problem is ink and toner cartridge .

  6. The Problem There are toxic substances contained in electronics that can harm human health if they are not treated in a sustainable manner. E-waste is growing faster than any other from of municipal waste and threatens to damage our health, degrade our environment and heighten global warming.

The Problem • It takes about a gallon of oil to make a new laser cartridge. • Every remanufactured laser cartridge saves nearly 2.5 pounds of metal & plastic waste from being deposited in landfills. • -components made of industrial grade plastics will take over a thousand years to • decompose. • - In one year, if the world’s discarded cartridges were stacked end-to-end; • they would circle the earth over three times.

Hazardous materials are chemical substances, which if released or misused can pose a threat to the environment or health. black mimeograph ink can be moderately toxic if swallowed but does not pose health hazards under normal conditions of use. General first aid Guidelines: Read the MSDS for detailed first aid information. In general, wash with soap and water, and for eye exposure, flush affected area with water for at least 15 minutes. If overexposure by inhalation occurs. Remove the victim to fresh air. And if a hazardous chemical is swallowed check the MSDA for first aid procedure.

The transformation of oil into a finished toner product begins with the creation of the two primary components: • Carbon black • Plastic polymer • Carbon black is used as a black pigment in a great number of modern products. • Pigment blacks are used in printing inks, coatings, and for UV protection in plastics. 1 • Chemical companies sold 7.7 million metric tons (17.2 billion lbs.) of carbon black world wide in 20022 • The majority of carbon black sold (70%) is to the rubber market; pigments make up 10%.

  12. Carbon foot print . The calculation of the carbon footprint is performed by first identifying and mapping out the inputs of each life cycle stage. Conversion factors for each input are applied to convert material use and energy / fuel consumption into carbon dioxide or carbon dioxide equivalent emissions. Components of the carbon footprint are calculated for each stage of the life cycle shown in figure 1

Other technique solutions The big challenge for re remanufactures when they reuse the laser toner cartridge that to obtain high quality printing and the mean part on the the cartridge has responsibility to enhance the print quality and make black graphics & texts the magnetic roller . This coating gives this quality when applying on the magnetic roller & make cartridge work from 2-3 cycle again to avoid throw away the old cartridge .

Solution Refurbished / reused / remanufactured cartridges These types of cartridges are to a greater or lesser extent produced from old printer cartridge parts that have been reused or repaired. All parts are examined, washed and tested individually to meet or exceed the quality standards set up by the OEM cartridge manufacturer. Key parts affecting quality and performance of the printer cartridge are replaced with new components while the cartridge case and non-wearing components are kept. It’s better to re-use parts of old printer cartridges than to create new waste that ends up in landfills or incinerators. Less waste and energy are used in the manufacturing of these cartridges compared with recycled cartridges thus making them a better purchase.
