Crisis in Sudan and Darfur: Healthcare Access and Escalating Violence

In 2009, Sudan faced a precarious situation with almost no access to health care, escalating violence, and disease outbreaks. The civil war between Darfur and Sudan left 3/4 of the population without basic healthcare services, with common outbreaks like meningitis, measles, cholera, malaria, and kala azar. This crisis led to an indictment of Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir for crimes against humanity.
