Purpose of the School/District Improvement Planning Documents • Provide schools/districts with a common planning form that is aligned with the comprehensive needs assessment • Address state and federal requirements related to school/district improvement plans
Contents Both planning documents contain: • Instructions for completion • Improvement Plan forms • State and Federal Required Elements • Stakeholder Involvement form
Design of Document • Format mirrors that of the school CNA • Intended to be a “balcony view” • Is based on an assessment of all the school data and information generated by school CNA's
District Comprehensive Needs Assessment - Contents • Part I: Assessment of Student Achievement • Part II: Assessment of Instructional Processes and Practices • Part III: Comprehensive Analysis Report
Guiding Development Questions • How does the district support the schools in the improvement of student achievement? • How can the district increase coherence within each of the Framework Standards? • How does the district use the results of the school CNA to inform the district assessment?
