  3. What is the CNA The CNA was developed to be used as a tool to assist a school staff in determining its strengths and challenges of their school. The CNA assesses the system processes and protocols and practice that are in place to support student academic achievement

  4. Comprehensive Needs AssessmentPurpose • Identify performance status, growth, and gaps • Identify strengths, challenges, and needs • Identify possible causes for the needs identified

  5. Comprehensive Needs AssessmentPurpose, continued…. • Provide assistance in aligning achievement goals with the challenges in a school’s System Processes and Protocols of Practice • Analyze how well the school improvement plan addresses those challenges

Student Data Analysis • Section 1- one hour staff meeting • Focus on answering questions based on data • Sections 2-3 May take 4-6 hours data (SIT/Staff) Communicate to entire staff – one hour each (ISD support) • Section 4- one hour staff meeting • Provide data, ask group to analyze • NOTE- Research on drop out rates indicates that Elementary School is where indicators first appear!

  11. Assessment of School Instructional Processes and Protocols of Practice White packet • Review and complete each Strand (Rubrics) • Compile Standard Analysis Report at the end of each standard
