Meade Military Reservation BBQ Contest Bake Off Fundraiser Directions to Burba Lake, Ft. Meade, Maryland: Coming from points west (Rockville, Fairfax County, Northern Virginia area) Take the 495 Beltway  North/East to 295 North, Exit at 175 East, Turn right at Reece Road to the entrance of Fort Meade; Coming from points south (DC South) Take 95/495 North into Maryland to 295 North, Exit at 175 East, Turn right at Reece Road to the entrance of Fort Meade; Coming from points north Take 95 South to 295 South, Exit 175 East, Turn Right at Reece Road to the entrance of Fort Meade; After security, take the immediate LEFT (Ernie Pyle Road). Please know you will not be able to see the sign before entering this road until you get to the top of the hill. 1. Ernie Pyle Road is right before Division Street. Division Street is blocked off and you cannot enter. 2. Turn RIGHT on 5th Street 3. Turn LEFT onto Wilson Street 4. Turn RIGHT on the 2nd unpaved path, Pavilion #3

  2. 2011 Graduates – The GSA would like to recognize all the GSA Member Graduates. Please email the following information to gsainfo.guam@gmail.com not later than May 27, 2011: Name, School, Short Bio (1 paragraph) of accomplishments. • VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – PLEASE CONTACT Ben Taitague (443-534-8533) or Gerald Corpuz (443-306-6337) • ATTENDEES: • If you bring meats to BBQ, please arrive NLT 10 a.m. • We would also appreciate donations of one 2 liter soda, an appetizer and a favorite dish to share with others. • Also bring other picnic things; coolers, chairs, tables, canopy, Frisbee, etc.. • VENDORS: There is no fee, all we ask is you donate something for the raffle. • PARK RULES: • No Swimming - No Styrofoam or glass containers - Tidy up before you leave so there is less for • Have lots of fun with family & friends - Listen to great music the volunteers to clean. • Dance, Dance, Dance GSA 2011 MEMORIAL DAY PICNIC BARBECUE CONTEST Rules and Procedures: BARBECUE ENTRIES IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 10 & BEGINS AT 12PM/NOON 1. Barbecue entry may consist of any meat, poultry, fish, vegetable or fruit 2. Barbecue entry may be brought from home or prepared on site 2. Barbecue entry will be placed in an aluminum container provided by the BBQ Committee 3. All entries will be assigned a letter when turned in with the same letter given to the participant in a sealed envelope which cannot be opened until the end of contest 4. People’s Choice - All entries will be ‘Judged’ by picnic attendees 5. Each ‘Judge’ will pay $2.00 to participate in sampling each entry. The BBQ committee will provide sampling materials; plates, cups, forks, etc. 6. Each ‘Judge’ will be given a ballot and will pick 1st, 2nd & 3rd from the entries after sampling them 7. A ballot box will be provided and all ballots will be counted by the BBQ Committee, which will consist of 4 volunteers and a GSA officer 8. BBQ Committee members cannot participate in the contest (but their family members can) 9. Results will be based on highest votes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd. Example; the highest votes for 1st will get First Place but the second highest votes in the first place ballots will not get 2nd place. The highest votes for 2ndwill win Second Place, and the highest votes for 3rdwill win Third Place. 10. Winners will each receive a gift plus: 1stPlace gets 40% of the Judges fee, 2nd Place gets 35% & 3rdPlace gets 25% 11. The GSA officer will verify the results and all results are final Baked Off Fundraiser – Bring your best homemade baked goods for fundraising for the GSA!!
