About the PSAT’s • Tests- critical reading skills, math problem solving, & writing skills • Juniors- National Merit Scholarship consideration • In 2011, the average SAT scores for college bound seniors: • reading score: 497 • math: 514 • writing: 489 • PSAT’s = practice! • Be better than the average!
Seniors • Calendar of key application deadlines • Cont. to look for scholarships • Internal college deadline for scholarships • Apply early • SENDedu and CommonApp (will need my email: reneacoley@spsk12.net) • Keep up your grades • Turn in your resume’ • Ms. Miller in B200 will work with you on the FAFSA
When applying to college: Counselor Forms- give to me with your transcript request Have everything together that you want mailed Allow 5 days for processing Complete the FAFSA in January to be considered for financial aid/scholarships
