  2. IB Phrases to Know • SL – Standard Level: A course that has 150 seat hours. Students must take three SL courses. • HL – Higher Level: A course that has 240 seat hours. Students must take three HL courses. • * NOTE * In some instances, a student may take four HL classes and two SL classes.
