  1. Real-time visualization of blood flow through the brain • Steven Manos, Marco Mazzeo, Peter Coveney, University College London (UCL) • The GENIUS project (Grid Enabled Neurosurgical Imaging Using Simulation) to study blood flow around the brain prior to surgery greatly increasing the chances of success. • MRI scans provide the data to reconstruct the neurovascular structure and then a lattice-Boltzmann fluid flow solver is used to simulate the flow of blood. • GENIUS makes use of MPI-g, a grid-enabled implementation of MPI and HARC (Highly Available Robust Co-scheduler) system which allows the reservation of multiple machines at a specified time.
