  1. Flow Visualization Flow visualization plays an important role in the understanding of fluid mechanics since “seeing is believing” and most of the fluids and their motions are invisible to human eyes. Therefore, numerous ingenious techniques have been developed over the years to provide an “eye-catching” way to allow us to visualize the motions of fluids and their interactions with the surroundings. You can find many interesting flow visualization archives on the web. For examples, pictures of the week, quantitative flow visualization, CFD movie archive, and many other sources collected in the Road Map page. The following is a collection of several of those visualization examples:

  2. Delta Wing Vortex Top & Back Views

  3. Delta Wing Vortex Top & Side Views

  4. MEMS Vortex Control Vortex under control, moving outwards Moving inwards

  5. Trailing Vortex Shed from Wingtip

  6. Missile Firing, Shock-cell structure

  7. Hurricane Fran, 1996
