  1. Grab your journal and sit in your assigned seat. Begin working on your warm-up Monday 2/4 • ABOUT YOU: Write 3 complete sentences. • What is your favorite type of food & why? AGENDA: About you warm-up Costume design Objective: Students will develop original characters based on a work of art that they will use to write a scene or monologue following the basic principles of plot.

  2. Brainstorming for your scene or monologue • Think of your character’s objective. What is it he/she wants? • What are some obstacles that get in your way? Is it your scene partner? Is it the weather? Society? • Think of what your scene is about. Fill out the outline of your plot. Write using complete sentences with as much detail as possible. If you need a separate sheet of paper, GO FOR IT! Each member of the group needs to turn the plot outline in FOR A GRADE!!! • Begin writing lines for your scene or monologue. Write your script in the back of your journal... If you are doing a duet or ensemble scene, make sure ALL of you have your lines written down.

  3. Writing your script For your Scene or monologue • Begin writing lines for your scene or monologue. Write your script in the back of your journal. If you are doing a duet scene, make sure BOTH of you have your lines written down. • Once you have finished writing your draft in your journal and I have approved your script, write a SECOND copy of your script on a loose sheet of paper (I have paper you can use) that you will turn in for a grade on the day of your performance & that you can take home to study your lines. • Add action verbs for each line you and your partner say on the right margin of your second script. For example: “To convince” “To joke” • As you begin planning your blocking, WRITE IT DOWN!!! On the left margin of your second script. • Use pencil (Just in case you change your mind…)

Begin working on your warm-up Thursday 2/5 • On the 4th six weeks vocabulary page, find and write the definition of the following words (DO NOT FORGET YOUR MEMORY CUES!!!)
