  1. Reconstruction of J/ (e+e-) with ElectronParticleMaker • Description of ElectronParticleMaker. • Informations used to make the identification. • First plots. • Comments, questions, conclusion,… Hervé Terrier DaVinci Meeting September 11th 2002

  2. Description of the Tool • Between reconstruction and analysis. • Input : Charged ProtoParticles. • Output : Particles (electrons). • Job : Combine informations from the reconstruction to built particles (analysis) with a certain CL on their PID and other properties (will have to choose which are necessary for the analysis). Hervé Terrier DaVinci Meeting September 11th 2002

  3. Informations provided by the reconstruction to identify the electrons (1) • 2 of the CaloClusters/Tracks (2D) matching(CaloTrMatch). • Blue : 400k Bd p+p-p0 • Red : 10k Bd  J/y(e+e-) KS • Attention: Log scale! Hervé Terrier DaVinci Meeting September 11th 2002

  4. Informations provided by the reconstruction to identify the electrons (2) • 2of the CaloClusters/Tracks  Energy (3D) matching (CaloEMatch). • Energy/position balance • Charged clusters only • Blue: 400 k Bd->p+p-p0 • Red: 10k Bd->J/y(e+e-) KS • Attention: Log scale! Hervé Terrier DaVinci Meeting September 11th 2002

  5. Informations provided by the reconstruction to identify the electrons (3) • 2 of the BremStrahlung Photon (2D)(BremMatch). • Matching of track parameters before magnet with clusters associated to photons. • Not used for the moment. • Blue: 400 k Bd->p+p-p0 • Red: 10k Bd->J/y(e+e-) KS • Attention: Log scale! Hervé Terrier DaVinci Meeting September 11th 2002

  6. Situation before the new production only e+ e- e+ e-  ’s • LHCb light, cheated pattern recognition, MC Truth ID (5k events). •  2700 J/ from B0d J/ K0s •  2200 with tracks quality cuts. • No photons added in the rest of this talk. Hervé Terrier DaVinci Meeting September 11th 2002

  7. Mass reconstructed with events containing all the tracks • 10k events dbase v248r4. • Only cuts on 2. Where are J/’s ? Hervé Terrier DaVinci Meeting September 11th 2002

  8. Mass reconstructed with clean events • 18k events. • ~ 1000 J/ with 10-100 cuts (normalized to 5000 events) • ~ 500 J/ with 4-49 cuts (normalized to 5000 events) Hervé Terrier DaVinci Meeting September 11th 2002

  9. Mass reconstructed with PID from MC Truth (I) 10 k evts 18 k evts • “clean” events  1625 J/ (normalized to 5000 events) • “all tracks” events  3550 J/ (normalized to 5000 events) Hervé Terrier DaVinci Meeting September 11th 2002

  10. Mass reconstructed with PID from MC Truth (II) standard events “clean” events • Plots normalized to 10k events. Hervé Terrier DaVinci Meeting September 11th 2002

  11. Mass reconstructed(I) • “ALL” • “CLEAN” • MCPID Hervé Terrier DaVinci Meeting September 11th 2002

  12. Mass reconstructed(II) • “ALL” • “CLEAN” • MCPID Hervé Terrier DaVinci Meeting September 11th 2002

  13. Comments, questions and conclusion. • Even with 2 cuts : 22D < 10 & 23D < 100, electrons are lost. • Momenta of e+ and e- are not nicely reconstructed  problems with J/ mass reconstruction and also with e ID. • Questions : • Not nice track momentum reconstruction ? • Photon radiation bigger in dbase v248r4 compared to v241 ? • Conclusion : more work is needed. • Do we need to add photons to charged tracks and recalculate 2 in ElectronParticleMaker ? • Work with associators.
