October • 10/10- Fall Festival • 10/16- End of 1st 9 weeks! • 10/18- Report Cards • 10/28- Parent Teacher Conference • (NO SCHOOL for students) November • 11/2- Field Trip to Pumpkin Patch/Farm • 11/11- NO SCHOOL (Veterans Day) • 11/14- Progress Reports • 11/22- Social Studies Night • 11/27-29 NO SCHOOL (Thanksgiving Break)

  4. December • 12/19-20 Students dismiss at 1 both days • 12/19-20 Parent Teacher Conferences • These will be after students have dismissed at 1 and until 7 pm • 12/20- End of 2nd 9 Weeks • 12/23- Winter Break Starts • 12/23- Winter Party! Happy Winter Break!!

  6. March • 3/3- Movie Night • 3/11- End of 3rd 9 Weeks • 3/16- Report Cards • 3/20- Parent Teacher Conference • (NO SCHOOL for students) • 3/24-28 NO SCHOOL (Spring Break) April • 4/10- Reading Night • 4/24- Progress Reports

  7. May • 5/22-23 Students dismiss at 1 both days • 5/22-23 Parent Teacher Conference • These will be after students have dismissed at 1 and until 7 pm • 5/23- Last day of school! • 5/23 End of the school year party! HAPPY SUMMER BREAK!

Agendas • Sent home every day • Homework assignments written down • Smiley face or Sad face • Smiley face if no rules are broken • Sad face if a rule or rules are broken • Parents should sign it each night • Parent-Teacher Conferences • Discuss academic performance, behavior, & social relationships • Once a month • 10/28, 12/19-20, 3/20 & 5/22-23 • Twenty minutes • In person • August, September, November, January, February, & April • Phone call conferences, unless parent would like to meet in person

Volunteering • “Classroom Mom” • Main communicator to parents when teacher needs supplies or volunteers • 1 “Classroom Mom” • Can be a dad. • Others can help him or her, but there will only be 1 “Classroom Mom” • Weekly Volunteer • Teacher helper • Run copies • Put packets together • Will be done outside the classroom (in the teacher workroom) • Story Reader • Read to students once a week • Alternate people

  12. Supplies • Sometimes I will need supplies throughout the year. I will tell the classroom mom what I need and she will communicate to you what I need. • You DO NOT have to supply things, but you may if you would like. • Examples: • Parties • Food, plates, cups, napkins, etc. • Classroom supplies • Paper, pencils, markers, crayons, etc. • Field Trips • As many as parents who would like to attend may • Parent roles will change based on the field trip

Feedback • Parent-Teacher Conferences • Discuss academic performance, behavior, & social relationships • See “Communication” page for more details. • Agendas • Sign it each night and return the next day • Please feel free to leave me notes in the agenda as I will be checking it each day • Tests • Sign and return the following day • I will send home a copy of the test upon request, if you would like to keep it • Parent Surveys • These will be sent out throughout the year asking how you feel about my performance as a teacher

  14. homework • Homework is expected to be completed each night by the student • If homework is not completed, the student will sit out at recess till homework is complete • A note will be sent home for you to sign when homework is not turned in • Parent help is appreciated! • Your child may not say it, but they love having parents watch/help them with their homework • Please refrain from doing it for the child though • PLEASE ask me if you have questions about the homework • We do teach things differently from when you and I were in school, so I would be happy to show you the “new way”
