  4. Silk • Origin • Fibres of the silkworm cocoon • Properties • Strong and luxurious • Keeps you warm in winter, cool in summer • Absorbs moisture and dries quickly • Builds static electricity and clings • Prone to shrinkage • Best dry cleaned • Weaker wet than dry • May watermark

  5. Linen Origin Stem of the flax plant (seeds are used to make linseed oil) Properties • Cool and comfortable to wear • Absorbs moisture well • Shrinks when washed • Creases easily • Prone to fraying
