Hard Facing Electrodes

Hardfacing Electrodes are essentially used to re-establish exhausted parts back to the usable condition in order to extend their administration life, however it can be effectively employed in new segment make also. It includes ensuring parts exposed to different sorts of wear in order to get a specific particular wear protection. This technique will help in assembling a segment from the cheaper material with a wear safe overlay providing the surface properties.

  1. Hard Facing Electrodes

  2. Hard Facing Electrodes offered by our company is defined as a medium heavy coated, rutile type of electrodes. These basically do the deposition of an air hardening type of weld metal of optimum hardness. Beside this, the electrodes also comprise of hard chromium carbides in a martensistic matrix. These are basically recommended for performing their function where severe conditions of abrasion, friction and impact persist. The presence of low hydrogen coating further enables them to work even in high carbon and high sulphur steels without causing any crack or porosity. Relying on their unmatched characteristics, these are suggested to be used in earth moving equipments, oil expellers, crusher hammers, shears, crane wheels, scrapper blades and punching dies.

  3. Types of Hard Facing Electrodes Ideal – 250 A medium heavy coated rutiletype of Hardfacing Electrodesdeposits air hardening type weld metal of approx. 250 Brinell hardness. The weld metal is machinable. A buffer layer of IDEAL-7016 is recommended on carbon steels and low alloy steels. For welding of gears, tram tyres, shafts, sugarcane crushes, gear wheels, hammers, pinion teeth, pulleys, couplings, spindles and axles.

  4. Ideal - 350 A medium heavy coated Rutile type electrode deposit air hardening type weld metal of approx. 350 Brinell hardness. The weld metal is machinable with carbide tools. A buffer layer of IDEAL-7018 is recommended on carbon steels and low alloy steels. To weld couplings, conveyor parts, log wheels, cams, crawler parts, axles, cold punching dies, brake shoes, drive sprockets, gear shafts, latch bars & plates, plough shares, pulleys, shafts, steel castings, shear blades, sprockets and wobbler ends.

  5. Ideal - 650 A medium heavy coated, low hydrogen type hardfacing electrodes with soft arc, low spatter and smooth welds. The weld metal is alloyed cast iron which is hard and extremely resistant to abrasion and metal to metal wear. For welding of oil expeller worms, concrete mixer blades, scraper blades, screw conveyors, cement die rings, mullertyres, ploughshares, dippers, excavator teeth bucket lips etc.
