  2. I Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

  3. “Cast”  • Throw forcefully in a specified direction. • “all”  • Refers to the whole quantity or extent of a particular group or thing.

  4. “your”  • Belonging to the person the speaker is addressing. • “anxiety”  • Feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.

  5. “on”  • In the possession of. • “Him”  • God • “He”  • God

  6. “cares”  • The provision of what is necessary for the health, welfare, maintenance, and protection of someone or something • “you”  • The person being addressed

  7. Don’t just tell me… Show me!

  8. The Centurion (Luke 7:1-10) …was hurting because someone he loved was dying. Jesus cared. • Real faith and understanding shows itself in humility.

  9. The widow (v 11-17) …was hurting because someone she loved was dead and she was alone. Oh, how Jesus cared! • When Jesus saw pain, He took care of it no matter what the cost.

  10. John the Baptist (v18-35) …was hurting because he was discouraged and doubts had arisen. • The Lord deals with different people in different ways, and always works even badthings out for our good.

  11. The Woman (v36-50) …was hurting because she had seen her own sinfulness, and the glory and love of Jesus. • She was an embarrassment to everyone but our Lord.

  12. Key Points • People who hurt don’t all need to be dealt with in the sameway. We need to seek God’s wisdom. • James 1:5 • But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

  13. Key Points • We need to do something. There are hurting people everywhere- they are seen only by people with caring, sensitive hearts! • You will never be in a place or situation where God does not careaboutyouand for you.

  14. Key Points • If we are going to live for Jesus, we must act like Jesus- see the hurtingand helpthem.
