  5. Deforestation Deforestation is the removal of a forest or area of trees where the land is then converted to a nonforest use.Examples of deforestation include conversion of forestland to farms, ranches, or urban use. Although tropical forests cover only about 7 percent of the Earth’s dry land, they probably home about half of all species on Earth. Many species are so specialized to microhabitats within the forest that they can only be found in small areas. Their specialization makes them vulnerable to extinction. In addition to the species lost when an area is totally deforested, the plants and animals in the fragments of forest that remain also become increasingly vulnerable. Sometimes they even become extinct.

  6. How it effects people, animals and plants We think that by cutting down trees we are helping us to stay alive, but that is not true. Trees provide us with paper, but there are other ways to make it without harming the environment. They also provide us with other more important things like shade and air. Without them we would either burn up or run out of oxygen! Would we rather run out of paper or run out of oxygen? Also the animals need trees as much as us. They use them to build houses to but also many live in trees. So, in cutting down trees we cut down their homes.Animals cut trees down too. For example beavers cut down trees to make their dams (homes) but that’s just instinct, they can’t help it but we can.It also immensely harms the environment. Places that used to be vast forests are now immense farmlands! It may not seem like it but trees and other plants are living creatures and in cutting them down we are taking their innocent lives...They take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen , this process is called photosynthesis . By this process they can help us a lot ,they can make the air fresher and cleaner. Trees cannot speak for themselves , so we as humans must speak for their right to survive.
