  3. Data in Graph view

  4. Confidence Intervals (using 95% CL) • Age group 0-4 • .0006 ± .000064 • 0.000536 < P < 0.000664 • Age group 5-9 • .0166 ± .00036 • 0.01624<P<0.01696 • Age group 10-12 • 0.09028<P<0.09192 • .0911 ± .00082

  5. Confidence Intervals cont’d • Age group 13-15 • 0.3138 ± 0.0013 • 0.3126<P<0.3150 • Age group 16-18 • 0.2537 ± 0.0012 • 0.2525<P<0.2549 • Age group 19+ • 0.1504 ± 0.0010 • 0.1493<P<0.1514 • Unknown Age • 0.1738 ± 0.0010 • 0.1727<P<0.1749

  6. Interpretations • Majority of Crimes = Ages 13-18 • Increase in crime over the 5 years • Least crimes occur in 0-4 age group • Largest jump in crime rates appear from 2000 to 2001 • Biggest margin of error in the 13-15 age group (.0013) • Smallest margin of error in the 0-4 age group (.000064)

  7. Conclusions • Since the margins of error are so miniscule, our confidence of being precise when randomly selecting a case that relates to the selected age group is very high.
