  2. Introduction: • Did you know there are many different types of poetry we can write? Did you know some poems have rules? • Let’s learn about some types and make our own!

  3. Task: • On your own, you will use the websites listed to learn about three types of poetry: • Haiku • Limerick • Acrostic

  4. Task: • You will learn about each type of poetry one day at a time. • When you feel you know all you need to know, you will go ahead and make your own haiku, limerick, and acrostic poem! • You will choose your favorite poem you have written to send to a Poetry Fan Club and include all three in our class poetry book!

  8. Process: Day 3 • Pick your favorite poem you have written. • Go to http://pbskids.org/arthur/games/poetry/write.html -Maybe your poem will be published on the internet for other kids to see! Show your teacher the poem you chose right before you click “send it!”

  9. Poems: At least 4 poems total… One Haiku One Limerick Two Acrostics (but I would love to see all 3 acrostics!!) Participation Reading your favorite poem(s) to class. Including your poems in our class poetry book. Evaluation: What I Would Like!

  10. Conclusion: • I hope you found the wonderful poet inside of you! You can now write three different types of poetry. Be very proud!
