  1. eLearning What is eLearning Pilot? Proviso 1A.83. of the 19-20 General Appropriation bill, H.4000 provides an opportunity for school districts to pilot alternative methods of instruction for school makeup days. Berkeley County School District has been approved for the eLearning Pilot for students to make up days missed for inclement weather through digital learning. • The use of technology to enable students to learn anytime and anywhere to prepare all students for success beyond the classroom Berkeley County School District #BCSDweatherproof

  2. What would an eLearning day look like? Should BCSD experience inclement weather, the designated make up days will be used for students to participate in instruction from home through primarily virtual methods. Teachers will attend school during regular work hours and be able to communicate virtually or by phone to support students who are working from home. Teachers may use the remainder of the day as a work day. Berkeley County School District

  3. eLearning What are the designated dates for eLearning should students miss school due to inclement weather? • October 25, 2019 • March 13, 2020 • April 10, 2020 • The use of technology to enable students to learn anytime and anywhere to prepare all students for success beyond the classroom Berkeley County School District #BCSDweatherproof

  4. Does this mean that students automatically stay home and complete assignments on October 25, March 13, and April 10? Students will be home, but they will only complete eLearning assignments on these days if they have missed school due to cancellations for inclement weather. For example, if a tropical storm hits and school is cancelled on September 13, the October 25th would be used as an eLearning day. Students will complete assignments from home and will not need to make up the day at the end of the school year. eLearning • The use of technology to enable students to learn anytime and anywhere to prepare all students for success beyond the classroom Berkeley County School District #BCSDweatherproof
