identifying the underlying cause of the trouble. You should certainly try to fix it yourself, but be
sure to keep in mind that any problem with the circuit breaker, thermostat, or internal switch
could be the reason why the AC unit is not turning on. You have to check everything to identify
the problem and then fix it to get your AC to work again. Here is how to proceed:
Before going any further, be sure to check that the thermostat is set to the "Cool"
position. You may have problems if your thermostat is set to "Heat" or "Off". You should
also ensure that the thermostat is not set above the room temperature.
Now, check the circuit breaker and ensure that it is functioning properly. Any problem
with the circuit breaker would keep your AC from turning on because it controls the
condensing unit or compression. You should first check the 240-volt circuit breaker and
then check the 120-volt circuit breaker that usually controls the furnace blower. They
should function properly when in the "ON" position.

replace the fuse. A very important thing to bear in mind is that sometimes the fuse will
blow again when you replace it and try to turn your air conditioning system on. If that is
