  1. DERMAL FILLER – STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE Dermal fillers have brought revolution in the cosmetic dermatology. The evidence is the increase in the number of patients opting for fillers. According to the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), the dermal fillers are considered the most popular cosmetic injectable technique in the United States. There are several types of dermal fillers available in the market today, but the procedure of treatment has been similar. As a patient, it is important to know about the before and after treatment care plan from your dermatologist. Ask your consultant, about the procedure of dermal filler, so you know what to expect when going through the procedure. Getting ready for the procedure The first step of the procedure is getting yourself ready. The dermatologist will determine what kind of fillers suits you the best according to your needs. Different fillers have different effects on your skin. The accurate kind of injection is customized to match your facial rejuvenation. Some instructions need to be followed prior to injections for some time, for example, avoid smoking and blood thinners or any other anti-inflammatory drugs as they may cause a reaction with the injections. Let your dermatologist know if you have any kind of allergies. If you are unsure, your dermatologist will run an allergy test before beginning with the procedure. All medical conditions must be discussed with your doctor. It is recommended to avoid wearing makeup during the procedure. However, you can resume your skincare routine after the procedure; make sure to check with your dermatologist. Injecting procedure Most of us get scared of this step – the injections. Before the treatment, the dermatologist will numb your skin with an anesthetic cream or may be with medicine. The doctor will receive the customized dermal filler in a packet with ready to use syringe. Most of the fillers have hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the skin. The size of the injection needle depends on the type of filler to be used, for example, fillers with smooth consistency use thin needles, as it will require a little pressure when injected. The particles of hyaluronic acid also decide the size of the injection. The filler is injected into mid to deep skin depending on the amount of modification patient’s require. The entire procedure could last up to 20 to 30 minutes.

  2. Aftercare treatment Just like there were some precautions before the treatment, some aftercare treatment steps need to be followed. Avoid rubbing your treated area for at least two to three days after the treatment. Also, avoid direct contact with the exposure of sun for about three weeks. Try to use sunscreen with SPF 30 and avoid wearing makeup. However, if your profession requires makeup, then use the one without alcohol. Some dermatologist requires follow up to ensure that all your lines and wrinkles are covered. Some fillers require a number of sittings before the result; however, you will start seeing the difference with the first injection itself. The effect of dermal fillers lasts up to six months to one year. Articles Source : http://pathtohealthnutrition.com/dermal-filler-step-by-step-procedure/
