  1. Research and Planning AS and A2 work :Characters and Location

  2. In my poster I used a group of models dressed in neon kit which some people wear when clubbing and raving. I used this to represent my genre of Dance/Clubbing music which was represented through the costume and the setting as the image in the poster was dark behind them making them stand out how they would in a club. • I based one of my characters on a music artist Calvin Harris which I had a male model who looked similar to him and dressed in a light blue Hoodie to fit in with the genre of clubbing/DJ look. • I included Calvin Harris in my feature page and I did a interview on him which to represent the character Calvin Harris I researched different interviews of him to get information about him in my poster. AS magazine: Flava Raver

  3. On my advert the characters I shown were the main characters Vivienne and Lauren to show binary opposition of good vs. evil (Strauss) I dressed Lauren in nice clothes and Vivienne but Vivienne is placed behind Lauren to show the opposition and the pose shown by Vivienne creates a comedic look to the poster. • I was influenced by many films and TV shows for my drama which were Devil Wears Prada, Ugly Betty and Material Girl which were linked to fashion which gave me a broad view of what to expect and include in my poster . • My radio drama was located in London but I did not represent this in my drama as I made it look sophisticated and didn’t want to give to much away on my advert to my audience. 4. The artist that I featured in my music magazine was the metal/rock artist SerjTankian. • Serj is well known in the metal/rock world as the former vocalist for the band System of a Down. • I chose to include him as he is well known and his eccentric style fits well with the target audience for my magazine. AS Magazine: I can’t remember the name

  5. The location for our drama came from a need for the characters to seek a fallout shelter. • We searched the internet and found a shelter in Essex which was close to where our drama was set. • This helped to form a more concise narrative which was more believable. A2 radio drama: Under the Mushroom Cloud

  6. Katie: Two faced, Stephanie’s sister. • Elizabeth: Vulnerable, sees the best in people. • Stephanie: A complete bitch. • We didn’t base our characters on anyone in particular but we did use stereotypes for example the classic mean girl and the ‘geeky’ girl arguing. • Our radio drama is about 3 girls taking a journey home from university. They start from Manchester University and were travelling home to Oxford. We chose this location because it was quite a long journey and we found a direct route using Google maps. • The location influenced our development by helping us continue with our script as we knew where the girls we going. A2 Radio Drama: Detour

  7. Ryan: The powerful leader. He is in his mid 20’s and not easily scared. He is of a kind disposition, and cares for all of his followers. • Nick: The sub-hero. He has a strong determination to achieve greatness, perhaps motivated by his powerful Scottish pride. He is by no means weak. • Jen: ‘The damsel in distress’, she is young, yet very intellectual, and rather timid. • Daniel: The shy, yet secretly diabolical character. His true nature is hidden behind a quiet and reserved façade. A2 Radio Drama: Under The Mushroom Cloud

  8. To make our radio drama appear more realistic we decided to research into routes and alternative routes that the characters would take. This would enable the listeners/audience to relate to the story and give a sense of realism. We decided that within the radio drama, the M1 and M6 would be closed so therefore they take a route on the A34 to avoid build up of traffic which may occur on the M40. Detour

  9. The setting for our drama was very important as it needed to be somewhere suitable for a real fashion show, to make it realistic and accurate.  We wanted to find a venue famous for hosting fashion events and somewhere in the heart of London city. -  This is where the drama is located, plus choosing a well-known venue will make it believable for the audience. I carried out my research through internet searches – finding out what places were available and suitable to hire.We were looking for somewhere more well-known and recognizable to our target audience. Somerset House seems to be a suitable place for our drama as it is the venue for London Fashion Week this year. This makes it current and recognizable, reflecting our drama as realistic and contemporary for our modern target audience. Also, those listeners who have a keen interest in fashion will be aware of Somerset House being the venue of London Fashion Week, so could easily engage with the drama, as the setting reflects a truthful representation of a genuine fashion show.
