  2. Romans 8:18 • Earthly Life Involves Trials • Paul has a different attitude: Whatever we suffer in this life can’t be compared with happiness & joy in being with God for all eternity

  3. Romans 8:18 • Looking from eternal perspective: • Suffering a small fraction of our existence • Eternity will make all our sufferings look like nothing • The joy & happiness of heaven will make even our most painful memories seem small

  4. Romans 8:18 • The greatness of heaven will make us realize that if anything we should endured more • The reward God want to give us, humbles us and makes us realize that we are not worthy of such • Realize that becoming a Christian was the best decision we ever made

  5. 2 Peter 3:9 • Comforting Thoughts: • God is patient with everyone • God isn’t waiting to disqualify me, He really wants me saved – 2 Timothy 2:4 • Friends and family members who died outside of Christ, were given may opportunities to change • IF I couldn’t get to a person in time to teach them, this comforts me in knowing other opportunities were provided

  6. 2 Corinthians 5:10 • Comfort in knowing I will only answer for myself • God will reward me for everything I did that was right • Only praise that is worthwhile is praise from God, a praise that is real, genuine and eternal – Romans 2:7 • John 5:44; 12:26

  7. 1 Corinthians 10:13 • “Overtaken” – has seized and holds one in its grasp – in the perfect tense denoting that the temptation is one which lingers • “Common to man” – not singled out, same in every generation • Comfort in knowing I am at no disadvantage in overcoming temptation • Not allow you to be tempted beyond what your are able to bear • Ephesians 4:27 – 5:6

Mark 10:21 • God loves people who do the right thing • God has an emotional love, and affection for faithful Christians • James 2:23 “the friend of God” • Acts 13:22 “a man after My (God’s) own heart” • Great comfort in knowing God will always to what is my best spiritual interest, but He loves me, and considers me to be His friend

  9. Ecclesiastes 12:13 • Matthew 6:33 “all these things what be added to you” • Luke 10:42 “Mary has chosen the good part” • Time spent serving God is never wasted, and the best thing we could do with our time • Laying up treasure in heaven

  10. 1 John 1:9 • Going to heaven isn’t based upon perfection or living up to an impossible standard • IF I can confess my sins, I can certainly see them. If I can confess my sins, the Word of God is sufficiently clear to reveal sins – Hebrews 4:12,13 • There isn’t any reason to be ruled by guilt, because forgiveness is only one sincere and contrite prayer away

  11. Matthew 10:36 • Comfort in knowing that if my extended family or immediate family is divided over my conversion that it is not my fault • When the truth has driven a wedge between family members, I shouldn’t feel guilty • Neither should I feel guilty for putting God ahead of the wishes of certain family members
