  2. DEFINITION INTERJECTION • Interjections are sudden, interrupting words or phrases that are also known as exclamations. Common interjections include: • wow, well, hey, bravo, and oh. • Goodness! Good! Oh no! Hooray! Thanks! • Help! Good luck! Well done! Gosh!Hey! • Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!

  3. Interjections are often signaledby an exclamation mark. • Bravo! You won the race! • Wow! Look at that! • Hey! You get the best score!

  4. Interjections can also be signaled by a comma. • Oh, they are late. • Oh, good.

  5. PUNCTUATION • Period (.) : end of sentence • Comma (,) : use between noun and noun, adjective and adjective • Use after Yes and No • Use for a brief pause • Question mark (?) : use after question • Exclamation Point (!): use after comma and an interjection • Apposthrope (‘) : Use an apostrophe with an s (’s) to show who owns something.
