  3. Basic measurement of faces • Across the top of the cheekbones • Across the jaw line from the widest point to the widest point • Across the forehead at the widest point about half way between the eyebrows and the hairline • From the tip of the hairline to the bottom of the chin

  4. Shapes of Faces • Basing on the basic measurements , there are roughly seven types of faces • Oval • Rectangular or Oblong • Round • Square • Heart • Triangular • Diamond

  5. Oval • Only slightly narrower at the jaw line than at the temples, with a gently rounded hairline

  6. Rectangular • Long and slender, about the same width at forehead and just below cheekbones • May have a very narrow chin or a very high forehead

  7. Round • Full-looking face with a round chin and hairline • Widest point is at the cheeks and ears

  8. Square • A strong, square jaw line and usually an equally square hairline

  9. Heart • Face is wide at the temples and hairline, narrowing to a small delicate chin

  10. Triangular • Reverse of the heart-shape • A dominant jaw line with narrowing at the cheek bone and temples

  11. Diamond • A cross between heart and a dramatic oval • Widest at the cheekbones, and narrow equally at the forehead and jaw line
