  2. Introducing of our company • What are we doing? -We are one of the leading Internet Service Providers on the Polish market. The company's strategy is ruled by its mission, which is to make efforts towards creating an e-business platform in Poland by way of providing the most up-to-date IT solutions and promoting use of Internet in all the areas of social and economic life. • Why are we interested of having good, understandable electronic signature policy in our country? - We are building Public Key Infrastructure in Poland. We are going to offer first services of the secure e-mail with the usage of the public key technology by June. And it will be easier to us to provide our activity under adequate legal system, which would be connected with European solutions.

  3. Public Policy and Legal Framework • Acts related to security issues in IT systems: - The Intellectual Property Rights Act - The Personal Data Privacy Protection Act - The Protection of Non-public Information Act • Projects: - The Electronic Forms of Payments Act - The Electronic Signature Act

  4. PKN Standards • The Committee represents interests of Poland in international and regional standardsorganizations, participates in their works and acts abroad in questions connected with standardization. • Commission 182

The Electronic Signature Act • Two projects: • Governmental project • IT communities project • Comparison • Subordinate CA to two different Ministries (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication or Ministry of Home Affairs and Administration) • Separate the Banking Sector (in the governmental project) • Only two level structure PKI certification tree (in the governmental project) • Condition of legislative works • Legislative procedure • When we are expect it will have been voted

  10. Our expectations • What are we expect? • Legislative support from EU • Creation of the Project which could cover the costs of works on CA legal systems in Central and Eastern Europe • Technical and legislative Specialists help (useful for works on coordination with EU policy for CA systems)
