  2. Torah – A choice to make Deuteronomy 28:13-14 (NIV) 13 The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. 14Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them. • Israel had a choice to make - to obey God or not to obey God. • Do you choose to pay attention to God’s commands? Yes or No • Do you choose to carefully follow them? Yes or No • Do you choose to Obey God and follow no othergods/idols Yes or No

Haftarah - Choices Isaiah 61:1-3 (NIV) The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed meto proclaim good news to the poor.He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives    and release from darkness for the prisoners,2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,3     and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.They will be called oaks ofrighteousness,a planting of the Lord    for the display of His splendor. Isaiah 61:10-11 (NIV) 10 I delight greatly in the Lord;my soul rejoices in my God.For he has clothed me with garments of salvation    and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,    and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.11 For as the soil makes the sprout come up    and a garden causes seeds to grow,so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness    and praise spring up before all nations. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!” 29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” • Even though Paul and Silas had been beaten and were in a bad situation they chose to what? _______________________________________________________________________ • As a result the jailer became a believer.
