  1. Bill CosbyA Very Funny Man By: Larry Kettlekamp Power Point by: Jessica Symes

  2. Introduction Bill Cosby was born on July 12th 1937. He lived in a town called Germantown, that’s in north of Philadelphia. He’s most famous for being a funny comedian, and for being a very good athlete. Bill Cosby is not dead he is still alive and funny. I chose him because he's a funny comedian, and he use to be a very good athlete.

  3. Childhood Bill Cosby’s family was poor. They didn’t have much money and his mom was always out of the house, working as a maid, just to get enough money for food on the table. When he was around the age nine, he tried getting money in his spare time to help out with his family. He went to an school called Mary Wister Elementary School. His mother told him he doesn't have to go to school but he believed in a good education so he went to school. At his school he had a wonderful teacher that was always so nice to him. All of the other kids were mean to him just because he was a colored. In school he decided to take sports than academic work. His family had to move out of there apartment and move into one that was a cheaper because he was so poor. Lucky they found one that was half as cheap than other one, and it was right down the street. Since he was one of the oldest, his brother and sisters listened to him better, when there mom was out working late, or constantly working day and night. If he asked them to do it, they would.

  4. Teen Years and Adulthood Bill Cosby dropped out of high school, because he joined the navy to help get money. Whatever money he got, he sent it home to help pay for rent and food, but it was not enough to help. So he got his brother and sisters to get jobs and help pay. When he was in the navy he swapped the decks, and cleaned things. After a while he decided to go back home because soon or later he was going to be sent out into war. So he packed up his stuff and left. Bill did go to collage, he went to Temple University. He was on their track team and was very good at it. One of his friends on the track team was called “bouncer” because he jumped hurdles really high. Bill thought it would be fun to jump hurdles. The first time he jumped them he made them fall, he decided not to do it anymore because he really didn’t get into it.

  5. Adulthood People were thinking of him as a funny guy. So once he was out of collage he started to be a comedian. He got a manager named Roy Silver. What they did was when bill said a joke and then the audience would laugh, his manager would record it and find out what jokes were funny and what were not as funny. That’s why his jokes are so funny. Bill met a girl named Camille in her bowling class. He joked around saying how bad her bowling was, and she decided that he was a very nice person. When she went to one of his acts she was impressed with his talent. Only after 3 months of knowing Camille, Bill proposed to her she said yes. They got married in the year 1964, in Olney Maryland. After a couple of years he had 4 kids ( Ensa, Ennis, Erinn, and Erika) Bill’s act got so big he got in movies and TV shows. He was on a top hit show called “I Spy” and for every season he got an Emmy. Bill was on a lot of TV shows. When he was younger, he was on his own show called “ The Cosby Show”. In 1971 he wanted to do something big with his life. He became a doctor. He wanted to help people in need.

  6. President Franklin D. Roosevelt was president when Bill Cosby was born. He was president from 1933 to 1945.

  7. Contributions Bill Cosby was a very generous man. A lot of the money that he got was donated to charity and the homeless. He was and still is, a very funny comedian, not to mention he was an amazing actor and a very nice doctor.

  8. The Perfect Couple My favorite story from what I learned from Bill Cosby, was when he met Camille. One of Bill’s friends was friends with Camille. She tried to hook up Camille with Bill. She said no, but they met up at one of Camille’s bowling class. They started talking and getting to know each other. She found out that she really like him. Finally she went on more dates with Bill, after 3 months he proposed to her and she said yes. And still now there a happy couple with kids. When I was reading it I thought it was so cute.

  9. Three Questions • The first question I would ask Bill is that, if you didn’t think you were funny, where do you think you would be right now in life? • When you where little what did you want to be when you were older, besides being a comedian, actor ,or a doctor? • 3) Why did you want to be a comedian?
