Requirements on admission Aircraft Piloting, Air Traffic Services Prerequisites for commencing studies: • secondary education or the qualification hereto received abroad, • national exam in sciences (extensive mathematics or mathematics taken before 2014, or physics), • national exam or the international exam approved the Ministry of Education and Research in a foreign language at Level B2 of CEF (English, German or French), • medical fitness and professional suitability(psychology and personality incl.), • command of the language of instruction (Estonian) that shall meet Level B2 description of the Common European Framework of References for Languages, • other prerequisites prescribed by admissions regulation.

  4. Year 1(autumn term)-General English course at the University of Tartu for all the students – 6 ECTS(groups basedon the students’level) CNS(spring term) – Aviation English – 3 ECTS Year 2(spring term) - Aviation English to all thespecialities (except for CNS) – 3 ECTS

  5. Speciality English courses • Students of Air Traffic Services Year 3 – Speciality English course leading to the ICAO language proficiencytest TEA (Test of English for Aviation developed by Mayflower College, UK, administered at EAVA, rated and certificate issued by Mayflower College) Autumn 3 ECTS, spring 3 ECTS Year 4 (autumn) – Speciality English (office work/business) – 2 ECTS

  6. Students of Aircraft Piloting Year 3 – Speciality English courses: * Autumn - Speciality English(workingwithaircraft manuals) - 3 ECTS, Speciality English leading to the ICAOLPR test TEA - 2 ECTS; * Spring– continuation of SpecialityEnglish leading to TEA– 3 ECTS Year 4 – Speciality English (office work/business) - 2 ECTS

Students of Aviation Management Year 3 – Business English courses 1 & 2 leading to Cambridge Business English exam(BEC Higher) Autumn 3 ECTS, spring 2 ECTS • Students of Aircraft Engineering Year 3 – Aircraft Construction in English (CLIL: contentand language integrated learning) Autumn 4 ECTS Beginning from the academic year 2015/2016 the course of Engineering English will be introduced in Year 4 curriculum

  8. Students of Management of Aviation Communication and Navigation Systems Year 3 – Speciality English course – autumn 3 ECTS

Other foreign languages (can be chosen as an elective or optional subject) Russian (French) (for beginners and advanced levels) Year 2 – spring term 4 ECTS Year 3 – autumn term 3 ECTS, spring term 3 ECTS Year 4 – autumn term 3 ECTS Students with Russian as their mother tongue continue at the Universityof Tartuwiththe foreign language they learned at gymnasium level.
