  3. Rules to Rounding • First: Find the location of the number by looking at its place value. • Second: Look to the right of the number to be rounded. • Third: Is the number to the right 5 or above? Or is it 4 or lower? • Fourth: If it is 5 or above add 1 to the number to be rounded. • Fifth: If it is 4 or lower, keep the number to be rounded the same. • Sixth: After you round your number, finish the rest of the number off with zeroes.
