The Domain DESYNT • Single Domain spanning Hamburg and Zeuthen • ~2000 registered users in 55 groups • Groups are more or less based on DESY administrative structure • Group administrators are responsible for • Configuration and installation • Support for the users • Account maintenance • Computer accounts • About 1400 active nodes • ~1050 workstations online per day (900 in parallel) • Growth rate is flatting out DESY WNT-PG Helga Schwendicke

AntiVirusSoftware • VirusScan V4.04 from Network Associates • Start with an Antivirus test domain in June • Scanning on access (default) • Private scan schedules are possible • Management Edition • Real time software distribution system • Doesn’t meet our demands • Only one database • Frequently disk access – Network Monitor Agent (10 sec.) • API’s unknown and not documented • no script support for management possible • Messages to GA’s and AV Admin when virus found • First distribution via NetInstall package DESY WNT-PG Helga Schwendicke
