If you are creative and love flowers, then you can give a shot at working as a florist. Any work is enjoyable only when the person has a passion for working on it. Apart from being a good customer service person, you would need to have a good eye for detailing, decoration skills and patience to work on flower arrangements. Creating bouquets, baskets, floral gift vases, wreaths and are the works of a professional florist. Do You Really Like the Work of a Florist? A florist is one rewarding profession where the work requires handling lovely, colorful flowers on a daily basis. The final product can put a smile on customers by creating customized bouquets as per their choice. If you want to make sure that you want to be a florist, it is advisable to work under an established flower store initially. It will give you a better understanding about the profession and its challenges. Do You Want to Do a Job or Open Own Flower Shop? Once you have decided on being a florist, the next step is to analyze whether you want to do it as a full-time business or as a part-time employee. By working full time under a professional florist at first will gain you hands-on skills and knowledge about this business. A formal work experience will help you to make up your mind on whether you want to work as a florist for someone or launch your own flower shop in Dubai or any other city.

  2. Formal Training As mentioned earlier, working for someone expert in floristry will be beneficial. There are also training schools run by big flower companies. There one can learn the ropes of the trade, understand its technicalities. Understanding professional issues and most importantly getting practical training makes a big difference. While many things can be learnt on the job, you can also undertake a formal training and education to support your qualification. There are few institutes that offer vocational courses on floristry that you can join before taking up the real job. Experience Makes All the Difference Being a florist and establishing oneself in this niche market is certainly challenging and daunting. A good florist is shaped only through experience. Every day of your work is a lesson and will teach you different aspects of the profession. The only thing to keep in mind is that you should be prepared for anything that comes across in your working phase. One needs to have a strong mind and stamina to face odd working hours (florists mostly have more work on holidays and special occasions). It demands standing for a long time and being ever-friendly in serving different kinds of customers and individual demands.
