Forces of Change Assessment Process • Develop list of trends, factors and events currently causing changes in public health or quality of life or likely to do so in the future (September meeting) • Categorize forces identified (Social, economic, legal/regulatory) • Identify threats and opportunities associated with these forces (October)

  3. Forces of Change Assessment • Trends: Patterns over time Examples: Demographic shifts Funding Changes

  4. Forces of Change Assessment • Factors: Specific elements of a particular community that are driving change Examples: High Obesity Rates Proximity to major river or highway

  5. Forces of Change Assessment • Events: One-time incidents/occurrences driving change Example: Hurricane or extreme weather
