SNAPSHOT OF YSU Education • Major structural changes started in mid-1990s • 1995 - changed the structure of its academic qualifications • Established a 2-level qualification system - Bachelor’s & Master’s degrees • 2007 – ECTS was introduced in Master’s programmes • 2008 - …. in Bachelor’s programmes • 2010 - …. in Doctoral education • 2010 – Educational component was introduced in Doctorate with intermediate Researcher’s degree YSU, A. SNAPSHOT OF YSU • Education • 60 Bachelor, 130 Master and 70 Doctoral programmes • 18,000 students – 13,500 BA, 4,000 MA and 400 Doctorate • 5000 part-time/correspondence students • 19 faculties, 2 educational centers, more than 100 general & professional departments • 1 regional branch campus in Ijevan • 3,000 staff out of which 1,300 are the permanent academic staff (170 Prof., 460 assoc. Prof., 640 assist. Prof. and lecturers) • 23 academicians & 26 correspondence members of the NAS • Student/teacher ratio – 12.8 YSU, A. Budaghyan
