What does United Way do? • The simplest answer is… WE HELP PEOPLE. • People from all walks of life: • Families • Babies • Teenagers • Older adults • New parents • People with health problems • Those coping with special mental or physical challenges • People who want to make their lives better. • And more…!

  3. Last year, we partnered with 23 agencies in Lackawanna County and awarded 18 grants to Wayne County Organizations. WE HELP PEOPLE. • In fact, we helped more than 55,000 people last year.

  4. That’s 1 out of 4 people in our region that received help because of the United Way last year. WE HELP PEOPLE.

  5. How do we help so many people with so many needs? That’s where you come in!

  6. We’re able to help because, each year, thousands of caring people—LIKE YOU!—give generously to the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties. The money raised here, stays here, helping people in our community.

When you give to the United Way, you can choose to direct your gift to the issues that matter most to you, or you can give to the Community Impact Fund which is carefully monitored by volunteers who will invest your donation in the programs impacting our community’s most pressing needs.This way, your donation not only goes to the immediate need that everyone is aware of but also addresses those that are less obvious…but no less important.
