6. Gate Valves • Gate Valves are the type of valves primarily used for blocking fluid flow and for flow regulation. It uses a plate-like barrier which can be lowered into the flow stream to stop the flow. The plugs usually seal both the up & downstream parts of the valve while the plates seal only on the upstream part.

7. Check Valves • Check Valves allow the fluid to flow through them in one particular direction only and are often suited for high-pressure applications rendering them highly effective in low-pressure applications. • Double door check valves use two half-circle gates or wafers that are hinged at the centreline of the valve port and open downstream in the direction of flow.

8. Global Valves • Gate Valves are the type of valves primarily used for blocking fluid flow and for flow regulation.
