  1. Registration Report – Academics Committee Nitin AgrawalHannah Chen

  2. Overview • NSRs last year • Focused on registration system • Sent out survey for feedback • Formed a focus group • Produced a report with recommendations • Reviewed by exec board

  3. Components of the report • ESTHER alternative courses • LPAP • Waitlist • Syllabus • Course Evaluations • AP Credit for higher level classes

  4. ESTHER alternative courses • Currently can only see primary course statistics • Recommend showing statistics for second courses

  5. LPAP • Support the 50% reservation for freshmen • Recommend prioritizing LPAP system for seniors who have not taken one

  6. Waitlist • Support the current option for professors • Recommend sending an email to professors reminding them of their options

  7. Syllabus • Support the posting of syllabi online • Recommend instituting a policy for professors to post syllabi (preferably from last year) • Allow students to more carefully pick classes • Linked to Course/Instructor Evals

  8. Course evaluations • Some courses renumbered in the past haven’t been updated in course evals • Recommend looking at specific course (i.e ECON 211, certain film classes) • Produce list of courses recently renumbered

  9. AP Credit – Higher level classes • Certain percentage of freshmen come in with enough credits to take 200 or 300 level courses first year • Cannot enroll because of priority group • Recommend using Registrar data to reserve certain percentage of spots for freshmen in highly demanded courses • Should be half or less than half the amount that try to enroll based on data

  10. Next steps • Feedback (from SA) • Send to David Tenney (Registrar) and meet with him to discuss and obtain feedback
