  4. BIOGRAFÍA Nació en Londres el 7 de Febrero de 1478. Fue pensador, teólogo, política, humanista y escritor inglés, además de poeta, canciller de Enrique VII, juez de negocios civiles, profesor de leyes y abogado. Ingresa en 1492 en la Universidad de Oxford, donde pasa dos años estudiando la doctrina escolástica que allí se impartía y perfeccionando su retórica. . En 1515 escribe el libro segundo de Utopía. Un año más tarde escribe el libro primero de Utopía y la obra completa es publicada en Lovaina. El 6 de julio de 1535 muere decapitado, por no estar de acuerdo con los planes de Enrique VIIIpara romper con la Iglesia de Roma.

  6. Los viajes de los Utópicos Los viajeros tienen que estar provistos de una carta del príncipe, en la que consta la autorización del viaje, y se fija la fecha del regreso. En el Senado se reúnen todos los años tres ciudadanos de cada ciudad, y se trata de las cosas que abundan en cada lugar y de las que menosabundan, para que los bienes están repartidos con equidad entre todos,“nadie puede ser pobre ni mendigo”. El oro y la plata en Utopía no tiene valor superior a los valores de la naturaleza, como son el aire, agua, tierra. Discuten acerca de la virtud y del placer, pero su primera y principal controversia es saber en qué consiste la felicidad. La naturaleza invita a los hombres a que se ayuden unos a otros viviendo alegremente, obrar en bien de la humana sociedad.
